1099 Filing Questions?
I just took on a part time second job as a subcontractor delivering newspapers. The job pays 380 a week with a gas reimbursement that varies considering what gas prices are. At the moment is $25-30 dollars a week. Do I have to pay taxes on the gas reimbursement? Also, can I file and pay taxes every quarter with a 1099? His boss would give him "side jobs" to do after work, mostly throwing mulch, and only last tax year, he began giving him a 1099 for all the mu;ch and we had to pay taxes on it. Well, he stopped working there in June of 2007, and just got his w-2 but we dont know whether to wait around for a 1099 this year or not(supposedly he would only get one if he did more that $500 worth of work) We ...
StephenWeinstein:1. If the 1099 was for 2007 income, it cannot be filed with a 2008 return. If you file a 2007 return and later receive a 1099 with 2007 income that was not reported on the 2007 return, you must amend the 2007 return.

Do I have to pay taxes for my 1099-misc as a business income?
I did collections all over the eastern part of NC for a woman (not a business). I ended up with a 1099-MISC with $2,200 in the #7 Non Employee Compensation Box. Working from home, should I just 1099 or form a company?
Through some unique circumstances I find myself working from home. The company I was working for told me to 1099 my services to them. My questions is since I live in L.A. county is it in my best interest to go 1099 or should I form a company and do business that way? I really want to know the pluses and minuses of both as far as taxes go. - Thanks for any response -...
what:The 1099 chatter, means you are a sub-contractor to them. If by the books, they can't tell you when to start your work for them, and how long you are to be on the clock. Starting up a business seems to be premature, when all you have to do is keep some records of expenses, and file the Schedule C, ... More...
