Looking for the best Accounting software for my business. Could you help?
I run a small, service oriented, firm. I bought this Computer recently and I'm not too good in it. I need your suggestion on what programme would be best for small business accounting. I don't need to keep big financial accounts. I only need an entry book programme where I can put my Cients' names, details, job details, payment details, etc. So that I can locate all the details for any client easily. If you know of such softwares please tell me. If you know of any site where from I can download Trial versions of such softwares please tell me that. That way I can choose the software that suits me best.

Frank:  Quick Books is good. They even have a basic version to cover what you mention. Microsoft has a Small Business Accounting package too.

kjenglum:  Try quickbooks for starters. It is easy to learn and gives you basic functionality for small business application. Price ranges from $100 to $500 depending on your needs. I think the online version is $20 or so a month and includes 30 days trial. I am not aware of any of the other products that include a free trial. The website if interested is quickbooks.intuit.com. There is certainly better software applications out there, but price and features generally are tailored to larger companies.

nora22000:  Quickbooks offers an online version with lots of support. The only problem I can see is if you are British or Canadian, I don't know if they offer versions for those accounting systems.
