taxes help?
I filed my taxes electronically, but I must have done something wrong, not signed it correctly or something, because they sent me something in the mail to prove who I am. It asks for my DCM number. Where can I find this on my taxes? I filed a 1040X if that matters. Thanks for your help! Im sorry, its a DCN number, not a DCM number

mathew:  Declaration control number (DCN). The DCN is a 14-digit number assigned to your return by your intermediate service provider and/or transmitter. It should be included in your acknowledgment message. The first two digits are always ?00?. The next six digits are the electronic filer identification number (EFIN). The next five digits are the batch number and serial number. The ?6? represents the year the return is filed (2006). When you first e-filed your return you should have gotten this number when you verified that the return had been filed.

STEVEN F:  I filed electronically and received a letter form the IRS that said they did not receive the signature form. It did not ask for a DCN. Are you sure you that is not part of the form that the IRS fills out?
