W9 / 1099 question?

W9 / 1099 question?
Just last week I asked a related question and i received accurate, right-on answers -Thanks everybody:) .... Well, im a little confused now so here is another: My club is hiring an entertainer for an event we are having and she is charging $2000. I now know that i need to provide them with a W9 and at the end of the year the 1099.... So, my question is the following... After i get the completed W9 form back from the performer, what do I do with it? Do i fill out the 1099 and mail it to her? Do i keep anything for my records? Im a little confused... The performer also lives out of state... Is there anything else i need to do?
