Corporate Canada: Do you still file tax return when the corporation is dissolved?
I registered a corporation a year ago and I just dissolved it. Do I still need to file tax return? Thanks.

lighthousecastle:  Check with your accountant but I would say you have to do one from your last year end until now.

You need to file a return from 8/1/06 to 7/31/07, and another one from 8/1/07 to 9/30/07. Mark on the last return that it is the final year before dissolution in box 78. After the return is filed, if you need a clearance certificate from the CRA, you will need to file Clearance Certificate Request. To see whether you need a clearance certificate, see CRA website: http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/tax/business/topics/life-events/clearance-e.html
