Does anyone know a really good book that will help me with my tax courses im taking?
I started taking basic income tax courses for H&R block and the way they word things in the workbook is so hard for me to understand. Im wondering if anyone knows of a book that will explain things to me in lamens terms. YOur help is greatly appreciated.

Dee:  Unfortunately H&R's books are about the best to learn from. Stick with it. Read it twice. If you get stuck on homework questions ask on yahoo. IRS publications are often even more confusing.

mahal:  No such thing. Taxes are complicated beyond reason. This is what makes the books hard to follow. You have to work at it and learn how to visualize what's going on with the forms. The hardest part is all the dumb rules and exceptions and the fact that they change a little bit every year. Have faith in yourself. The more you work at it, the better you'll understand. (The books I use are spendy but they're great: "the Taxation Series" by James W. Pratt and William N. Kulsrud. The way the books are indexed helps the most.)
