What are the advantages of the 4-year accounting degree, and the 5-year undergraduate degree that the U. of Houston, Texas, awards. What is the best way to study accounting? How much calculus is required? What is the best minor? What (work) internships are available? What financial aid is available? What does the future look like for an accountant? How good is the degree at preparing you for the CPA? How much computer knowledge do you need? Is there a need for a foreign language? (Spanish is valuable in the southern states, along the border.) How much money can I expect to make, and when. How about career advancement? How much help can I expect from the school after I graduate? What does the program cost? Can I expect to be laid off? How obselete can my training become, as the years go by? What is the image/reputation of an accountant? Do the girls jump in your lap, or run away? (If a movie wants to make a person's life totally useless and meaningless, they make him an Accountant. Go see "About Schmidt.") How important is GPA? (Accountants need to be _good_; no one wants a poor accountant. Would you want a poor accountant handling your money?) Are there any special requirements? (Accountants with a talking problem starve to death. Would you want anyone talking about your finances?) Do I have to learn the 10-key adding machine by touch? What honor societies should I hope/try to get in? Is what school your degree is from important? Are there any special laws I need to be aware of? (Unless you are a CPA, it is usually illegal to say you are an Accountant. Instead, you say, "I have a degree in accounting.") I hope you find happiness.
