I'm planning buying a laptop from IBM website and I have some questions about the tax.
1)Can I claim tax back at the airport? If can what do I need?
2) I heard about that I have to pay tax for this laptop at the airport when travelling back to Ireland, it is this true?

jlf: The U.S. has no VAT - only state sales taxes. Those are not refundable.

efflandt: We don't have VAT. State sales tax is paid where you buy something (where you take delivery) and is not refundable, even if you live in another state or country. Whether you have to pay tax on it upon return to your home country is up to their rules.
