Best user friendly small business accounting software?
my husband and I will be opening our small construction based business in the next month or so. I will be keeping all the books and running the office. I've never used accounting software so I'm a little nervous. What types would you suggest? Thank you!
I do have a cpa who will be helping me with the taxes but I would like to run the office myself. I have an executive background.
Answers:
kemperk: I suggest no one in the family do the books; unless you are an accountant, you can't know about
taxes, tax shelters, loan factors, interest rate pay offs, factoring and the like. FIND a good
accountant who has available, a CPA, and then, use them. YOUR time is best
spent finding clients for your firm, 17 hours a day, 6 days a week, forever.

Professional Student Wanna Be: I am a small business owner who always listens and takes tips from Clark Howard and Kim Komando. When I first began -- as you are -- the two saved me TONS of dollars, which I then reinvested in my company.
Check out this "Tip of the Day" from Kim Komando for accounting software. Even though you are an executive, you may find keeping the books is a nightmare, so you don't want to spend a fortune on software.
