1099 question regarding claiming mileage?
I worked as a 1099 contractor for the entirety of a year. Within that time i regularly had to drive to many locations throughout a tri-state area ( new england ). My office was located in charlestown, MA but i regularly had to travel to andover amongst many other locations. Can i claim the mileage from my home to andover and the other locations throughout the tri-state area? Keep in mind this is all as a 1099.
Answers:
Bill M: You can't claim mileage to or from home, only from one job site to another.

tro: it is the same as anyone using their own vehicle driving to and from work is commuting and never deductible if you drive to your work location(the location of your employer) and then drive to assigned locations, that mileage is deductible
